NOVELDAY 2018 will take place in concert with Global Entrepreneurship Week November 12-16th in Kansas City. Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international celebration of the makers, innovators and job creators who launch startups and bring ideas to life. Founded by the Kauffman Foundation in 2008, it has since expanded to more than 160 countries. Expect to experience a wide variety of talent, valuable networking and business development opportunities as well as being the first to see new innovations from major corporations, mid-size nimble companies and startups being showcased in world-class Kansas City architecture. PlexPod Westport Commons, which is 140,000 square foot co-working space is our select venue. PlexPod is a creative safe-space custom designed to be conducive for ideation, networking, interactive presentations as well as private workspace and close proximity to local attractions and entertainment. Sponsorship spots are limited as we seek to help sponsors maximize the value of their investment while making a collective impact to make Kansas City a true Novel City.

Join Mimi Johnson (celebrity makeup artist, CEO of The Glamatory, creator of Grind Pretty) will moderate a guest panel including international celebrity fashion blogger Claire Sulmers, Jasmine Cooper and other women entrepreneurs with expertise in social media, investing/raising capital, and time management strategies for moms and those working a full time job while pursuing their dreams, This session will include a high impact Q&A session which introduces the expert panel to the audience as well as small group sessions with each expert giving each attendee an opportunity to sit intimately, ask questions, and work through business issues pertaining to each area of focus. Lastly you don't want to miss our social hackathon as we help your company get the exposure it deserves!

Meet The Panelists
Ms. Claire Siobhan Sulmers is the founder of FashionBombDaily.com, and the industry's leading fashion blogger chronicling fashionistas of color. Her pioneering work ushered in a new wave of digital journalism that fed and fueled an under-served community of African-American and Latino lovers wanting to know more about brand from the culture. Beyond developing and directing content for FashionBomb Daily and its affiliate sites, Sulmers has done extensive writing for other platforms including Vogue Italia , Vogue Paris , and ESSENCE Magazine. Her body of work and online following - now numbered above one million - has made Ms. Sulmers the influencer of choice for major corporate brands who want to reach her audience including Toyota, Reebok, Verizon, and others. Ms.Sulmers, who hails from Atlanta, Georgia, holds a degree in French and African American studies from Harvard University. In 12 years, Claire has accumulated over 1.3 million followers, written a book "The Bomb Life", and is now working on her 2nd book.
Having over 10 years of experience, Mimi J. has built a great reputation in the beauty world and is a well sought-aftermakeup artist and entrepreneur. She works on popular television shows on networks such as Bravo and VH1,services celebrity clientele including Angela Simmons and Kenya Moore, and has been published in magazines suchas Essence, E-Online, The Knot, and Instyle. Being a beauty influencer, Mimi has a social media following of over50,000 followers and has been a brand ambassador for companies like Colgate, Shea Moisture, Strength of Nature,and Family Dollar. She has consulted entrepreneurs and major beauty brands such as Design Essentials on SocialMedia/Branding. Mimi is also the owner of the beauty boutique The Glamatory located in Smyrna, GA and is the creator of GrindPretty.com . She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, holding a B.A. degree in Marketing, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and mother of a one.
Jasmine Diane Cooper is a nationally recognized and career blogger at JasmineDiane.com with a heart for teaching women how to win in the corporate world while maintaining a side-hustle. She has been blogging for over 6 years, working with brands like Dove, Starbucks, Pepsi, NY Fashion Week and more. Most notable she was featured in Marie Claire magazine and named one of Kansas City's "30 Under 30" Honorees in 2017 by Ink Magazine. Along with these honors, Jasmine was honored as this year's Young Advertising Professional of the Year at the Journey Awards, hosted by the American Advertising Federation of Kansas City. Additionally she was honored as City of Truth Church's Salt & Light Award for her infectious joy and positive attitude. Jasmine regularly hosts networking brunches, known as "Brunchin' with Jas for young professionals in Kansas City. Over the past two years, she has hosted over 250 young professionals and was featured on the cover of Ink Magazine's Brunch Edition last summer.

Marcus Hollinger is VP of Marketing at Atlanta based Independent Label Reach Records co-owned by Grammy Award Winning Recording Artist Lecrae. Marcus has spearheaded marketing campaigns for a number of Billboard top 10 releases that have garnered millions of records sold. Marcus is a graduate of The University of Kansas where he earned his B.S. in Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communication. Marcus is also an avid sneaker collector and basketball aficionado.
